Isla Navidad

Isla Navidad, Mexico
A small, desolate island featuring "Open Doors", one of the best beachbreak barrels in the world.

There are actually several different breaks on the island, which take N and NW swells but "Open Doors" is the best and most famous.

Open Doors requires a South swell to break.

You can only reach the island by airplane or boat, making it usually very uncrowded. Baja Air Ventures offers all inclusive trips from San Diego.

The wind goes hard offshore every day late in the morning. The swell wraps around the island,so the wind blows offshore all day.
